Blue Door and Rumah Hantu

I've painted the kitchen door blue.. Fiesta Blue to be exact. Spent RM23 for one liter of the oil paint. Quite cheap as I asked around and the price is around RM33 to 38.

Wifey and I also went to a hardware shop in SS2 to purchase rubber mat for the store room. Bought 9 foot runs at RM2.50 per foot. Installed the mat that night it self. Punya la semangat!

The previous occupant of the house has a weird way to have fun at that house. Or may be their kids have itchy hands and write on the store room wall....

But somehow, Arianna seems to enjoy playing in that room....

Kerja Kerja Kerja

Damn I've been away from blogging for quite a while. My visitors rating has dropped from the usual 5000+ unique visitors per day to a pityful 50 unique visitor per day.

I am on leave since last Sunday until next Monday. I'll be working for 2 nights and will resume leave until next Saturday. I thought I would have more time to blog since I'm on leave but somehow I am tied up with the Moving In project.

At the moment, we've repaired 2 units of sinks. As of yesterday we've completed painting the living room walls. We as in me and my assistant.....

"gaji main slide je"

"bila la nak siap kerja... kejap nak kaler kuning, kejap nak kaler putih!"

"gile la tenant dulu ni... cat kaler hijau!"

I am sorry that I've left this blog unattended for quite sometime. And sorry for not posting anymore bread making entries. But dont worry, once the oven above is switched on the first thing that will go inside is a bread dough! Hehe

06012009

This morning I got a call from my mother that our family friend who was the driver to my dad when he was the honcho of the Forstry Department few years back has passed away. He served our family for at least 5 years and has helped a lot in our family matters. I still can remember that he was the one in charge of our Cendol booth during my wedding. Since I'm working night shift, I thought the least I could do is to visit the funeral ceremony. The arwah is buried in Rasa, Selangor. A place in between Serendah and Kuala Kubu Baru. May he Rest In Peace.

After the ceremony, it's around lunch time. Since we are so far away from home, we decided to go even further and have lunch in Tanjung Malim. My father remembered that there's a good place to eat Ayam Kampung (Village Chicken) but the problem is, last he went there is few years back and he could not remember the name and place anymore. After searching and asking around, including having a few pau first at Yik Mun since we are too hungry, we managed to find the place. For the sake of sharing, the coordinate is +3° 41' 46.17", +101° 30' 58.12". Yes, you can you use it on your Garmin 760, my bro in law! It's open at 1pm.

We reached home at around 4pm. I fetched Arianna from KJ and head back to Ara. Then the 4 of us inclusive the maid went to our house in Bukit Jelutong! We got the keys yesterday. There's a lot to do to make the house "move-in condition". Well that's the plan anyway. We had the choice to purchase a good condition fully furnised and renovated house and this basic house and we selected the latter. So hopefully tomorrow will be Day 1 in the pursue of our Perfect Nesting Home.

Plain White Bread with a tinge of Almond

I wanted to bake plain white bread yesterday, but ended up adding 30 grams of almonds in the recipe.

  • 350gm high protein flour
  • 245ml water
  • 50 gm sugar
  • 50 gm sugar
  • 5gm instant yeast
  • 30gm roasted almond
  • pinch of salt

The idea is to make powdered almonds. I used a dry blender to achieve that.

Home made Almond Bread

The outcome is not bad.. I wish I have a proper place to store the bread though.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year guys and gals. Be it 1430 or 2009. May you all have a better year compared to the previous ones.

I have no new year resolution for the upcoming 2009. I achieved my 2008's resolution of getting a GPS unit. Thanks to Wifey though.

Additional to that, our family is blessed with the arrival of Wildan. There's no word that can describe how happy I am to meet him. The person who would take over my responsibility once I'm no more around. Again.. thanks to Wifey.

Well.. we had our fair share of unhappiness in 2008. Mostly health related issues. Arianna had Bell's Palsy, Wifey with her horrible pregnancy sickness and Wildan got a severe case of jaundice. Thank God that all of them recovered well.

Actually I'm watching Reaper while writing this.. I can't concentrate much. I'm working tomorrow... have a good one people!
